About this Gold Coast project.
Tree pruning services including limb removal, with protection of identified Corella and Lorikeet activity within the upper canopy and Galahs in neighbouring trees. Creation of 5 burrow holes of differing sizes and orientation.
This project is part of our arboriculture capability, delivered across the Arboriculture in Gold Coast service area for Gold Coast City Council.
Scope & highlights
What the job involved.
- Retention of 1.5 m – 2.0 m stubs before ringbarking each isolated limb
- Creation of 5 hollows to accommodate habitat
- Monitoring of the frequency and usage of these hollows
- Use of seasoned timber to minimise splitting and shrinkage and increase durability
- 500 mm deep × 120 mm wide hollow with a small ledge to accommodate larger parrot species
