In 2007 / 08 River City Garden and Lawn have been working in partnership with the Brisbane City Council on the "2 Million Trees - Our Urban Forest Project". The goal of the 2MT Project is to bring the community and business together to make Brisbane the most ecologically diverse and green city in Australia.
The 2MT is a million tree march towards restoring urban forest habitat across Brisbane and creating a legacy for future generations to enjoy. The 2MT project values and objectives are a perfect match for River City Garden and Lawn.
River City Garden and Lawn have been extensively involved in revegetation and habitat restoration projects for many years. Throughout the 2MT program River City Garden and Lawn have been involved in specification development, project management, chemical application and vegetation removal, site preparation and installation and maintenance.
To date River City Garden and Lawn are involved in the first three stages of the program with stage four about to come on line. The first three stages have included 146,750m2 (14.67 hectares) of habitat restoration sites, 22,135m3 of mulch, 74,828 of vegetation installation.
